Week 5B: Defining A Target Market

My target market is business owners within the health and wellness industry. The demographics of my target market are men and women between ages 25-65 years old, who have an Associates degree or better and make between $25,000-$250,000 annually. They can be any ethnicity. These people work in the health and wellness industries such as yoga, personal training, message therapy, birth-work, acupuncture, alternative medicine, health food stores, and many more. Therefore, they value health and wellness, eating right, exercising, probably more spiritual in religion. They enjoy the outdoors and nature, believe in clean energy, and saving the animals and earth. They also value have an active lifestyle, value alternative medicine, and use body and energy work to reward themselves.

Week 5A: Defining A Target Market

The two websites that I decided to observe where Econobum and Cheap Diapers ! Both of there target markets are adults between 18-45 both male and female who have children. These brands both are very similar. They are both diaper companies and both targeting parents. However, they are both different. Econobum is clearly marketing to the more educated adult, probably older in age, and is middle to high class. The reason why I say that is because someone with a higher educational background would understand that diapers are a huge part of the waste in our landfills and that a cloth diapers are more natural. Adults with a higher education usually have children when they are older in age (around 30-45 years old) and are within the middle to high social class because they make more money due to their educational background. Cheap Diapers is targeting the younger parent, with high school education or lower, who makes a lower wage. The reason why I say this is because Cheap Diapers is obvious...

Week 4B: Design, Branding, and Aesthetics

The websites that I visit frequently are www.pinterest.com and www.instagram.com. These two websites require that you sign in to use it. Both of these webpages are effective because they have features that appeal to users. Pinterest allows you to create "boards" that allow you to "pin" pictures, videos, tutorials, and blog posts. This "saves" it for the user later when they want to buy the product or service or create something similar at home. This website appeals to anyone who likes to craft, do art, cook, buy clothing and shoes, do hair and makeup, create a fitness plan, and much more. Instagram allows users to share pictures and video clips on a profile. Instagram is good for anyone promoting a product or service and users who like to buy products and services. Both Pinterest and Instagram are designed well. They use contrast in their web design, contain repeating elements, no spelling or grammatical errors, and is easy to navigate for the user. Both...

Week 4A: Aesthetics, Design, and Branding

Aesthetics, Design, and Branding are key parts to impacting a consumer's buying decisions. They tell us who they are appealing to, builds recognition, and creates a level of credibility with consumers. Banding, Design, and Aesthetic makes us want to buy and keep coming back for more. When observing another business's branding, design, and aesthetic we can learn what impacts consumers in a good way and what impacts them negatively. "Headhunter Hairstyling" is a good example of what not to do. It is not that Headhunter Hairstyling's branding, design, and aesthetic is horrible it just needs work. The biggest problem with their website is many of the pictures are not high quality. There are many photographs on the Home page, Gallery page, and About section. Some of them are blurry, lack the proper lighting, and are low-quality. I think this influences a consumer's feelings of trust in the business because there is not a cohesive design. The other problem "H...

Week 3 Part A: Communication- Business & Consumer

As American's we consume products and services! It is just our nature but as part of the process of gathering and consuming products and services, we also have a level of satisfaction that we need fulfilled: communication. We need to feel that the businesses we support with our hard earned money value us as there customers. Communication between the business and consumer is one of the most important aspects to having a successful organization. I have had experiences in the past when I found it difficult to communicate my issues with a business. Most of my experiences have to do with customer service, or how the employees at the establishment have treated me. I felt like I wasn't being heard! I think social media is the best thing when it comes to getting heard and your problem solved. I have seen many people on social media use it as a platform to try to communicate with a business. It makes it easier and less stressful for the consumer and employees (because often the employ...
