Week 12B: Researching Advertising
With the decline of organic reach on Facebook, paid advertisement campaigns are the new way businesses are going to be reached and recognized by users. When creating a Facebook advertisement or post, you want to consider some things to gain an audience. With the average Facebook user scrolling through 1,500 posts a day, you want to reach users by creating an advertisement that has the following elements, the post needs to be: visual, relevant to the audience, valuable, and have a clear call to action such as "Buy now and Save %". Facebook isn't the only social media platform you can advertise on. You should implement the same principles for your Instagram and Twitter posts as you did with Facebook. When it comes to being visual in your post don't hestitate to use emojicons as well.I notice a lot of social media advertising contains the icons so that people will stop and pay attention. Facebook and Twitter allows banners on their business pages. Use that to your advantage. If you have a promotion, banners can be a great way to advertise because it is one of the first things they see on your page. For my business, I am going to continue to post daily. Right now, I created a campaign on Instagram called #25daysofhomedecor in which I upload for 25 consectutive days home decor that has to do with the theme that month. This is great advertising because it makes my instagram look great visually. Shows that I am posting everyday, which gives me more post likes and followers. Also, if people need to find me they can use the #25daysofhomedecor tag because I created it so my posts are the only ones under that tag! For Facebook, I have been using a combination of photo, video, and offer ads. I think this is most effective because my target market, which is moms between 25-50 years old, are usually busy but on Facebook so they need something that captures their attention while they are multitasking. The budget that I started with is a $1 a day for 14 days. I think this is a good start because the campaign is short but effective.
