16: Final Assignment

When I came into the semester, I looked a social media as something satirical and more for entertainment purposes than business. Social media is an integral part of most of our lives yet we do not really realize how much our social media networks are marketing to us and being used for business. Did you know when you comment, like, and post about products and businesses you are participating in marketing? I did not either! Now that I have taken this course, I not only see the purpose for social media but I am now using it myself for my own business. I was a newbie coming into this course (my business had only been "real" for 3 months) but now I feel that I have the skills to run my own social media campaigns. Today, businesses are nothing without social media. Social media is the way you can maintain a relationship with your customer even when they are not in front of you and let them know about new promotions/sales, products/services, and keep your audience interested. Soci...

15B: Optimizing Yourself and Data Analysis

My Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter analytics are doing well. For my Facebook page, I have gotten at least 4 more likes, recently have 25 members for my "Home Staging Tips" group that is attached, and have a few people even like some of my posts. My Instagram has 99 followers this is up 49 followers from when I first began, I have at least 40 likes on each one of my posts, and a few people/businesses even comment on my posts. My Twitter has the lowest analytics but I also have the least amount of posts. I am finding it a bit difficult and time consuming being the administrator on all these accounts. I am seeing the benefit to having a social media team. I feel like I am definitely learning a lot from this class and the audience that is interacting with my page!

Week 12B: Researching Advertising

With the decline of organic reach on Facebook, paid advertisement campaigns are the new way businesses are going to be reached and recognized by users. When creating a Facebook advertisement or post, you want to consider some things to gain an audience. With the average Facebook user scrolling through 1,500 posts a day, you want to reach users by creating an advertisement that has the following elements, the post needs to be: visual, relevant to the audience, valuable, and have a clear call to action such as "Buy now and Save %". Facebook isn't the only social media platform you can advertise on. You should implement the same principles for your Instagram and Twitter posts as you did with Facebook. When it comes to being visual in your post don't hestitate to use emojicons as well.I notice a lot of social media advertising contains the icons so that people will stop and pay attention. Facebook and Twitter allows banners on their business pages. Use that to your advant...

Week 13A: Researching Advertising

I chose 5 businesses that all vary but they specialize in eco-friendly, green products or services which is closely related to my business. My favorite social media strategy that I also use on my social media accounts is to feature products that are organic, eco-friendly, and sustainable. Green with Envy Interiors, for example, loves to show close up details of samples such as carpeting, tile, wood finishes, and more. The pictures make the consumer want to buy "Green", eco-friendly because they see that they can get the same product or better without harming the Earth. The other types of social media that draws my attention is small videos. Eco Interior Design is a great example of how you can use video to capture people's attention and inform them on products or services. Eco Interior Design shows tutorials on how to turn any room in your home into a sustainable, eco-friendly space. The companies renderings and virtual video gives the consumer a sneak peek into how desig...

Week 12B: Other Social Media Tools

The two suggested activities that I decided to pick where Coupon Networks and Yelp. I think both of these groups will help with marketing and promotion along with helping me understand what product/services work and what doesn't sell. Groupon and Living Social both give the business owner feedback on how many people were interested in the coupon, how many people got the coupon, and this could help with future product/service development. For my first campaign on a coupon network, I would offer by E-design services at a discounted rate. The reason I chose E-design, which is a service that I provide online and through the phone, is because it is easy and doesn't take up too much of my time to create and implement so it doesn't require a lot of overhead cost. Plus, it allows customers to get to know me, see what I can do, and it gives them a sneak peek into what you would get if I came to your home to do a private consultation and design job. It gives the customer a chance to ...

Week 12A: Other Social Media Tools

For my business, there are several other social media options that would help gain more interest and clientele to my services. Google Plus allows you to talk and share with clients just as you would in real life. You can create circles, or specific networks of people, events, and host hangouts. I like the fact that you can join communities that is in an area of interest and keep current with social media trends. Yelp would be another type of social media that could greatly help my business because it allows past and future clients see my work and here from experience how my services match to my competition. It allows me to see how my business and services are perceived by customers. To gain more clients, I would use Groupon because it allows you to create a promotional coupon that attracts new customers to your services and many times they will upgrade their services or buy more product once they are at your location or receiving your services. Living Social, also would help with ga...
